WHAT I’M ABOUT

Well, maybe that title isn’t really quite right because it really isn’t about me, it’s about YOU. I want to capture a little bit of you so that when you look at one of my photographs of you, you say “ That’s how I think of myself right now, today” and I want your parents to say “That’s my son” or “That’s my daughter”.

I’ve been working in the metro Detroit area a long time, but I do my photography a little different then most photographers—I’ll go to you and photograph you in your home or on location. I do that because I want to make it convenient and comfortable for you and also because it gives me all sorts of different looks and challenges. Just as you are unique, your photographs will be unique because no two locations are the same. Am I going to photograph you in the middle of your living room? Well, if I do, it will only be a little piece of your living room or home. Like this photo of Rachel:

Or this photograph of Adam leaning against a brick wall. His mother loved it. She said, “ It’s only a brick wall, but it’s MY brick wall”.

By the way, most photographers wouldn’t photograph someone in bright sunlight like this because they think the lighting is too strong, but he looks strong and the light seemed right for him, so I just had him wear sun glasses so he wasn’t squinting. Works for me. How about you?

Isn’t this really convenient, though? No hauling clothes around, or sports gear, or music instruments. If you change your mind about what you are wearing, no problem!

We can, and will, go somewhere else to get your pix, too. Like this photograph of Braden. I did this under a bridge. Isn’t that wall great? The whole thing just works, doesn’t it?

Into horses? We’ll go there! Where ever! What ever!

Of course, these aren’t half hour sessions; I’m going to spend some time with you—up to three hours. Whatever it takes to get those just right photographs.
